Respiratory Care is a dynamic, high-tech, high-touch department involving direct patient care. The department is staffed 24 hours a day 7 days a week by licensed Respiratory Therapists.

Services which are provided to patients with disorders of the cardiopulmonary system include diagnostic testing, therapeutics, monitoring, and rehabilitation. Patient family and public education are essential to the mission of the department.

The Respiratory Care department is proud to have received the Quality Respiratory Care Recognition from the American Association for Respiratory Care for the years 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007.

The purpose of this program is to help consumers make choices about their health care by recognizing hospitals that promote patient safety by providing access to respiratory therapists to deliver their care.

Respiratory Therapists are assigned to all inpatient nursing units to provide therapeutic services to all patients with disorders of the cardiopulmonary system including Neonatal, Pediatric and Adult patients.

The Respiratory Care department also offers a full range of Pulmonary Function and Exercise testing diagnostic studies covering Pediatric and Adult patients.
