Dialysis services offer a comprehensive approach beginning in a hospital-based unit where social workers, nephrologists and skilled nurses assist the patient in choosing the correct modality. These may include in-center hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, a home modality, or transplantation. When a decision has been made and dialysis begins, the skilled staff is there to assist and prepare the patient for dialysis as an outpatient.

The hospital-based unit, as well as the outpatient centers in Bay Shore and Lindenhurst, contain state-of-the-art equipment. Each was designed to create an environment of optimum comfort during treatment, including individual televisions and specially designed reclining chairs.
