at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center

Welcome to the Department of Medical Education at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center.

We are the premiere institution for osteopathic medical education in New York state offering residency training programs in emergency medicine, family practice, pediatrics, podiatry and OB/GYN. The hospital is a continually expanding state-of-the-art facility, training residents to become leaders in medicine and surgery.

Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center is a 537-bed (including 100 nursing home beds) facility and one of the largest providers of emergency medical care on Long Island. A major clinical campus of the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Good Samaritan is also a clinical site for many other medical schools offering a multitude of student rotations. The institution has achieved the prestigious Magnet® designation for excellence in nursing care.

The variety of patients is remarkable. Good Samaritan treats a tremendous variety of pathology occurring in a culturally, racially and economically diverse population. The hospital is committed to excellence in patient care and has the same commitment to helping our students, interns and residents reach their greatest potential.
