The Orthopaedic Surgery Department at Good Samaritan is composed of board certified orthopaedic surgeons and their staff members. A full compliment of orthopaedic sub-specialties are represented, providing expertise in the treatment of trauma, total joint replacement, sports medicine, hand surgery and spinal surgery. The orthopaedic service is an integral part of the multi-disciplined trauma team for the treatment of multiple trauma, on both the adult and pediatric level. On any given day, several operating rooms at Good Samaritan and the Ambulatory Surgical Unit are hosting a full array of orthopaedic trauma and elective orthopaedic surgical cases. Orthopaedic Procedures
The Ambulatory Surgical Unit allows the orthopaedic staff the ability to perform multiple types of arthroscopy and other extremity procedures including a large number of shoulder and knee arthroscopy procedures on an outpatient basis. Approximately 2,500 orthopaedic procedures are performed annually at Good Samaritan. Cutting-edge equipment and instrumentation are available for the treatment of fractures, joint replacements, and arthroscopy procedures, including sports related injuries, ligament reconstructions and joint replacements.
